Our mission

About West Island Blues Festival

The West Island Blues Festival is a community-minded venture with a passion for bringing people together through the power of music. Since its founding, our mission has been twofold: to promote the rich cultural legacy of blues music in the West Island, and to give back meaningfully to the community we call home.

Over the years, the Festival has proudly donated close to half a million dollars to local non-profit organizations making a difference in people’s lives. These include the West Island Mission, West Island Women’s Shelter, West Island Black Community Association, Literacy Unlimited, and the Volunteer Accompaniment Service (ABO VAS) — just to name a few.

A Celebration of Music and Community

Our Festival isn’t just about music — it’s about connection. Each of our free events throughout the summer offers a unique experience where community members can gather, celebrate, and enjoy world-class blues performances in vibrant outdoor settings. Whether it’s Pointe-Claire, Dorval, DDO, or our exclusive VIP Night in Pierrefonds, each location reflects the diverse and dynamic spirit of the West Island.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, we remain committed to expanding our reach, introducing new artists to the stage, and deepening our community impact. The West Island Blues Festival is more than a concert — it’s a platform for artistic expression and a force for good.
